Eryngium yuccifolium, Rattlesnake master, Button Eryngo.

Eryngium yuccifolium, Rattlesnake master, Button Eryngo root was reportedly used by the Cherokee and Creek as poultice for snakebites, toothaches, bladder trouble; for coughs. Traditionally, root tincture was used as a diuretic, and treat urinary disorders such as burning pain and irritation of the urethra, and frequent, scanty and painful urination. Chewing the root increases saliva flow. Found in tall grass prairies and glades. The tough fibrous leaves were used to weave footwear and containers by Ozark bluff dwellers.
