Native to mountains of Middle, Eastern and Southeastern Europe and Western Asia, Cross Gentian, like other Gentians has highly bitter compounds in the root and has been used locally as a digestive stimulant. An antiseptic, stomachic and bitter historically. Excellent plant for rock gardens. The majority of these images were taken at Botanicka Basta in Kolašin, Montenegro or nearby mountains.
