Monarda bradburiana, Bradbury's Monarda, White Bergamot, Eastern Beebalm.

Monarda bradburiana, Bradbury's Monarda, White Bergamot, Eastern Beebalm is a peppery-scented member of the mint family, Lamiaceae or Labiatae, native to open woods from Indiana south to Alabama, west to Arkansas and southeastern Kansas. Similar to Monarda russeliana, though M. bradburiana, as seen in many of these photos, has cottony hairs on the upper lip of the flower. This spring-flowering Monarda was formerly used in a leaf tea for fevers, stomach upset, digestive gas, and as a cold and cough symptomatic treatment as well as a pleasant herbal tea.
