Potentilla indica, syn. Duchesnea indica, Indian Strawberry, Mock Strawberry is a member of the rose family (Rosaceae), native to Asia and widely naturalized as a weed elswhere. The spongy attractive fruits are dry and inspid within. In Asia, whole-plant a folk medicine as a poultice or wash (astringent) used for abscesses, boils, burns, insect stings. Tea used for laryngitis, coughs, lung ailments. Inhibits an enzyme on the surface of influenza A virus revealing potential antiviral effect.
