The 72 photographs shown here depict a typical Quechua home in Ollantaytambo. These ancient homes include a central altar with sacred objects often hundreds of years old, including ancestral skulls, along with foods and medicinal herbs. A small stone hearth, with only a 1 sq foot hole in the wall near the ceiling allows smoke from the kitchen fire hearth to escape. In the opposite corner of the home, guinea pigs are raised, as they have been for hundreds of years, as a source of protein. Beds and a table are on the other side of the single room of a family's dwelling.
