Sixty images of scenes along the Tara River and the Tara River Canyon in Montenegro, the longest, deepest river canyon in Europe, with sheer cliffs of 1,300 meters and azure blue water. The Grand Canyon itself is only 200 meters deeper. Many of these images are from the Tara Bridge, near Zabljak. The bridge, completed just before WWII, and blown-up in 1942 by one of the bridges engineers, Lazar Jaukovic, to prevent Italian and German troops from crossing. He was caught by the Italians and executed. A plaque honors his bravery. The bridge was rebuilt in 1946.
