Vitis vinifera, Grapes, Wine Grapes, Grapeseed is the European grape cultivated since ancient times as the source of fruits and seed for the manufacture of wine and related products. In recent years the spent seeds left over after wine or grape juice production have been used as a source of raw material for antioxidant components especially oliogomeric procyanidins. Grape-seed extracts have been evaluated for microcirculatory disorders. The health benefits of a daily glass of wine are well known.
