Aesculus pavia, Red Buckeye

Aesculus pavia, Red Buckeye. A small, red-flowered tree found in rich moist woods in the eastern deciduous forest. Native groups used the nuts as a talisman (carried in pocket) to ward-off rheumatism, hemorrhoids, and for good luck.
