Arisaema dracontium, Green Dragon, Dragon Root, Dragon Arum is a woodland member of the arum family (Araceae) that occurs in alluvial bottoms and flood plains throughout much of eastern North America. The Menominee used dried, aged root for female conditions also an item in a sacred bundle. Root considered edible once it has been dried, aged, and elaborately processed. Root used similarly to Jack-in-the-Pulpit. Fresh plant is toxic and acrid.
