Arisaema triphyllum (L.) Schott., [Arisaema atrorubens (Ait.) Blume], Jack-in-the-Pulpit. Cherokee used the dried, aged root for colds, sore throat, and dry coughs, and tuberculosis. Iroquois used cut root (in whisky) for colds and bronchitis; antidiarrheal, and to build blood. Roasted seeds were eaten. Dried-root tea traditionally considered expectorant, diaphoretic, and purgative. Historically used for asthma, bronchitis, colds, cough, laryngitis, and headache.
