Erigenia bulbosa, Harbinger of Spring

Erigenia bulbosa, Harbinger of Spring is an early spring-flowering member of the Apiaceae or Umbelliferae (Parsley family). It is found in rich woods from New York to Georgia, west to eastern Kansas and Oklahoma, north to Wisconsin and Ontario. Not an important medicinal plant, native groups chewed the root to treat toothache.
