Jasminum officinale, Jasimine, Jasmine essential oil production.

JJasminum officinale, Jasimine is found from Asia Minor, India, the Himalayas and W. China. Cultivated since ancient times. The flower is used in tea to treat abdominal pains from dysentery, hepatitis, and liver cirrhosis. The flowers are also aphrodisiac and antispasmodic, and are used to flavor teas. The juice of the leaves is used externally to treat corns. The whole plant is decocted and used as a sedative and febrifuge. The oil is used in perfumes.
