Indian Tobacco, Pukeweed or Lobelia inflata was used by native groups for for asthma, bronchitis, sore throats, coughs. One of the most widely used herbs in nineteenth-century America. Traditionally used to induce vomiting (hence the nickname Pukeweed) and sweating; sedative; used for asthma, whooping cough, fevers, to enhance or direct action of other herbs.
