Phyllanthus emblica, Amla, Emblic, Indian Gooseberry native to tropical Southeast Asia and widely associated with Ayurvedic traditions of India. The fruit, fresh or preserved is used as an antiscobutic and for digesive conditions. The fruits, seeds, bark, leaves, root, and flowers are used in various Ayurvedic preparations for the treatment of a wide range of conditions. Used since ancient times and widely cultivated in tropical areas outside its region of origin.
