Eastern White Cedar, Thuja occidentalis. By 1566 it was one of the first North American trees introduced to European horticulture. Formerly used for treating enlarged prostate, incontinence, etc. Today, preparations are used for upper respiratory and urinary tract infections, as an expectorant and immunostimulant. Science confirms antifungal, antiviral, and immune-activating properties. The leaves and the polysaccharides within, stimulate the immune-system and decrease inflammatory-inducing cytokines.
