Zantedeschia albomaculata, Spotted Calla Lily, Spotted Arum Lily
Zantedeschia albomaculata, Spotted Calla Lily, Spotted Arum Lily is a member of the arum family (Araceae), not the lily family, native to southern Africa, and wiwdely naturalized elsewhere in warm temperate climates. Various cultivars are found in the nursery and cut flower trade. They and calla lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica became a symbol of Irish nationalism in 1926. Also used to commemorate Easter and associated with funeral rituals. It is considered a toxic plant, like many members of the arum family because of the high amounts or irritating calcium oxalate that can cause severe burning of the oral mucosa.
